Progressive leadership, vision and a systems focus are essential for promoting fresh perspectives and innovation in the development of integrated communication policies and strategies that ensure public awareness on key government issues. You are accountable for guiding senior communications teams within a portfolio of ministries to achieve strategic and tactical communications goals and inform on government’s economic policies and opportunities. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will oversee the government wide team responsible for communications planning and coordination, and lead the Public Affairs Bureau’s crisis communications management. Project management rigor is critical, as you oversee activities for priority cross-ministry communications initiatives in a rapid paced environment.  A practiced collaborator, you will establish yourself as a trusted advisor to senior officials and play a critical role in shaping policy and approaches that deliver on the commitment to transparency and public engagement as foundations for government communications.

 

You have built a career as a communications leader with extensive executive experience driving strategic planning and public engagement initiatives, ideally in a public sector environment.  Performance driven and an agile thinker, you are recognized for your acumen, ability to read and respond to issues of significance and impact, and deliver on-point advice to senior leaders.  Advanced collaboration and relationship skills equip you to navigate within large organizations, managing issues and projects, informing decisions and delivering results through the power of influence. You have distinguished yourself as a credible leader committed to inspiring and mentoring teams and building a culture of excellence in corporate communications.  A related degree or diploma is preferred and an understanding of government and political systems will support your success.  This Executive Manager position offers a salary range of $153,289 to $201,175 ($5,873.18 - $7,707.88 bi-weekly).  Final candidates will be asked to undergo a security screening.  This competition may be used to fill future vacancies.  Closing date:  June 23, 2017.
