CONGRATULATIONS TO THE
ALBERTA ARETÉ AWARD WINNERS!
The results are in!
The results are in for this year?s Alberta Areté Awards program. The 2007-08 winners were announced at the CPRS Calgary and Edmonton AGM events in June and formal awards will be presented at the CPRS Calgary 50th anniversary gala in October. Below is an overview of our winners:
Beth Diamond, managing partner at NATIONAL Public Relations?
Calgary office was selected as the recipient of the CPRS Award of Attainment. The award recognizes an
Alberta practitioner who demonstrates outstanding professional, personal and leadership achievements and service in public relations. In her nomination, Beth is described by her clients and colleagues as a role model to her employees and a well respected and admired consultant by management and communications professionals across
Canada. Beth also contributes to the community through her significant involvement with not-for-profit organizations and her ability to inspire others through mentorship.
Tanisha Tetz, communications coordinator at the
Alberta
College and Association of Chiropractors (ACAD) was selected as the winner of this year's CPRS Alberta Areté Award in Internal Communications. Tanisha's winning project was her Entirely Electronic communications strategy that supports a plan to move the ACAD to a paperless organization in a short time frame. The goal of the plan is to ensure more efficient, cost-effective and environmentally responsible communications. Judges for the category found Tanisha's entry to be an excellent example of an internal communications program.
Deanna Cameron Dubuque is a recent graduate of the University of Calgary's Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Culture and has been recognized for her commitment to the program, her extracurricular activities including student government and the communications profession. University of Calgary professor Dr. Charles Tepperman describes Deanna as having a reputation for scholastic excellence and creative innovation on campus. In the fall, Deanna will return to school to complete her Masters degree in Communications Studies and hopes to one day pursue her accrediation. Deanna is this year's recipient of the CPRS Alberta Areté Student Award, sponsored by Genome Alberta.
Congratulations to this year?s winners and sincere thanks to Genome Alberta for their sponsorship, the category judges for their dedication of time and expertise and the CPRS Edmonton and CPRS Calgary boards for their guidance and support.
