Bachelor of Professional Arts in Communication Studies Athabasca University's Bachelor of Professional Arts in Communication Studies was the first collaborative degree of its kind in Canada.  A degree that can be earned through distance education without giving up full or part-time employment, it builds on the successful communication-related diploma programs of Canadian colleges and credential requirements of professional associations. Courses are offered at a distance using delivery methods that include textbooks and study guides, with one-on-one telephone tutorials.  Individual courses may also include audio-cassettes, videos, television, the Internet, computer conferencing, videoconferences and/or audio conferences.
